On June 14th, we invited a number of special guests to celebrate the raising of our fourth green flag. We received this flag for travel and the boys, staff and parents have put in a lot of hard work in order to achieve this award. Among our guests were members of the tidy towns committee and local community, local councillor Aidan Lombard, past pupil and Olympian, Richard Moran and our guest of honour was Olympian Rob Heffernan.  Gabby, our school gardener, who keeps the school garden in tip top condition for us was also an honoured guest at the ceremony.

Mr.Lyons thanked the Green School committee, led by Ms.Maher, for their efforts. Councillor Lombard informed the audience about the measures being put in place to improve traffic and safety outside the school. Rob Heffernan congratulated the boys and spoke to them about hard work and his own career. Richard Moran presented Mr.Lyons with photos of himself at the Special Olympic World Games in Austria and showed how he proudly represented Crosshaven by wearing our school jersey at the games in Austria. Mr. Murphy, our chairperson wrapped things up, thanking the boys and staff for their dedication and hard work.
