It has been a very busy few weeks in Scoil Chros tSeáin. On November 28th, the boys from 2nd to 6th class were treated to a Lego workshop. The classes were timetabled to take part in the workshop throughout the day. Second class used laptops to create lions. The other classes created boats and then tested to see how far they could move across the floor on various wheels. The boys enjoyed themselves immensely.

On December 1st some boys from third class travelled to Riverstick for an indoor football blitz. The boys played three games and played very well. They ended the day on a high note, winning their final game by three points. Well done boys!

Sixth class were also busy in December representing the school. Four boys took part in the annual Sciath na Scol Sports Quiz. There were about 75 schools participating and although they didn’t win, the boys from Scoil Chros tSeáin did themselves proud on the day.

On Friday, December 12th, we joined with the pupils from Scoil Bhríde and Templebreedy N.S. in Saint Brigid’s Church to take part in a carol service. It was a lovely service which we all enjoyed.

On December 17th, we had a real treat when a young magician came to visit. The boys gathered in the hall and were wowed by the tricks performed by Daniel Cremin. Lots of boys got to take part and help the magician with his tricks. Mr.Lyons was even called upon to assist but still no one could figure out how the magician was doing the tricks. It must have been magic!

We rounded up 2014 with our Nativity in Saint Brigid’s Church. After weeks of practice, the boys were ready to go and performed for their families and friends on Friday, December 19th. There were lots of angels, wise men and donkeys milling about the place and each group performed so well and showed that their hard work and efforts paid off.
